Objective: To characterize epidemiologically deaths from stomach cancer in the Northern region of Brazil from 2010 to 2019. Method: Epidemiological, ecological, quantitative study. Data came from the Ministry of Health's Mortality Information System, collected in June 2021. The variables investigated were: year, state, sex, age group, color/race, education, marital status and place of occurrence. The analysis was performed using descriptive statistics with the BioEstat software. Results: 10,916 deaths were reported in the decade studied, with greater frequency in the states of Pará and Amazonas; while the states of Acre and Roraima had the lowest numbers. The predominant characteristics of the cases were: male gender; between 60 and 79 years of age; browns; married; and with low education. The places with the highest occurrence of these deaths were hospital establishments. Conclusion: The results allowed the identification of the main characteristics of individuals who evolved to death from gastric cancer in the Northern region of Brazil, notably contributing to the evidence regarding the epidemiological situation of this disease in the regional and national scenario.
