Epidemiological profile of individuals living with Sexually Transmitted Infections

Objective: Analyze the epidemiological profile of people living with Sexually Transmitted Infections, treated in Rio das Ostras, state of Rio de Janeiro. Methodology: this is a cross-sectional study, which used the retrospective documentary technique. The information collected was organized in an electronic spreadsheet. The observation unit was the medical record for the health service user with the diagnosis of Sexually Transmitted Infections. The normality of the quantitative variables was verified and statistical tests were applied according to the analyzed variable. Results: there was a higher proportion among males (60.4%), 46 to 60 years old (32.1%), single (35.8%), living in the city of Rio das Ostras, with low education , the age of diagnosis from 26 to 35 years and with Hepatitis B (10.7%) and C (12.6%), HIV / AIDS (76.7%) and history of syphilis (16.4%). In the analysis of the treatment variable with the selected variables, there was statistical significance for: transmission (Fisher's test; p = 0.074) and drug use (Chi-square test; p = 0.057. Conclusions: analyzing the profile of individuals who living with Sexually Transmitted Infections made it possible to get to know the most vulnerable group and to identify problems in filling out medical records.
