Allergy occurs when there is contact of external factors (allergen) with the individual's immune system, causing a hypersensitivity reaction, where the body is stimulated to produce specific IgE antibodies. Allergy is characterized as acute and chronic, which can be treated with allopathic medicines such as bronchodilators and anti-inflammatory drugs. Currently there is an alternative form of treatment known as homeopathy, founded in 1976 by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann. body to create defense mechanisms because it uses the pathogen for treatment, is based on treating the individual as a whole. For this reason, the study looks at the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment in chronic allergies taking into account the reasons for changing from conventional treatment. To this end, it carried out a qualitative and quantitative study, in which analyzes of scientific articles were made showing the study of efficacy and / or comparison with conventional treatment and the reasons that lead to this exchange. The research was based on analysis, 17 Articles that were published between 2000 and 2019 analyzed data were organized in Microsoft Word 2016 program. The result of the analysis observed that 14 studies had positive outcome proving that homeopathic treatment is beneficial to the reduction of chronic allergies. 3 studies had negative outcomes that failed to demonstrate efficacy or saw no significant difference when compared to conventional treatment. However, he concluded that although some studies show no cure with homeopathic treatment, there are studies that increasingly show homeopathy as an alternative treatment that has a beneficial effect for the treatment of chronic allergies.
