This study aims to characterize the epidemiological profile of hospitalizations for traffic accidents involving motorcyclists in Brazil, in the period from 2016 to 2021. For this, secondary data were collected on motorcycle accidents in Brazil that occurred between 2016 and 2021, where information was collected from the Hospital Admission System (SIH) of the Informatics Department of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). The variables were: age group, gender, race, length of hospital stay, hospital discharges for death and total value of hospitalizations per year. This information is available through the e-mail address. The data obtained by TABNET/DATASUS were tabulated and analyzed in excel version 2019. The information was related to gender, age group, regions of the country and the year of occurrence. The results showed that the occurrence of accidents was higher in men, between 20 and 29 years old, with 57.624 hospitalizations in the period between 2016 and 2021. The highest values are concentrated in the Southeast region. Thus, it can be concluded that measures to monitor and punish offenders, as well as the education and awareness of current and future drivers are fundamental to effectively reduce the number of accidents in this public and throughout society.
