Objective: to report the experience of the systematization of nursing care for users with rigid person syndrome in an Intensive Care Center. Methodology: This is a descriptive, observational study, with a qualitative approach, of the experience report type, which describes the follow-up of the history, daily evolution and development of the Systematization of Nursing Care of a diagnostic user with rigid person syndrome, attended in a hospital accredited as a Center of High Complexity in Oncology. Results: To build this report, it took five specific moments based on the Nursing Process to facilitate the conduct of the case. At first, the nurses had the opportunity to monitor the patient's admission to the ICU and learn about and document the user's health history, which served as a basis for fostering development in later stages. The topics that represent nursing care, based on the NANDA-I were: Domain 1 – Health promotion; Domain 3 – Elimination and exchange; Domain 4 – Activity/rest; Domain 6 – Self-perception; Domain 11 – Security/protection; Domain 12 – Comfort. Final considerations: Using the SAE made it possible to manage a care plan developed according to the demands identified in the patient, carried out to deal exclusively with potential health problems during intensive care.
