Introduction: Current technological advances are responsible for constant improvements in the health area, in dentistry one of the specialties that benefits most from the constant market updates is endodontics, which is constantly concerned with solving clinical challenges such as the treatment of calcified canals, removal of root retainers, and apicectomy surgeries. Objective: to elucidate the advantages and limitations of computer-assisted endodontic surgery. Methodology: An integrative literature review qualitatively evaluated the findings retrieved from Pubmed, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane Library using the search strategy based on the health sciences descriptors "("endodontics" AND "Surgery, Computer-Assisted")”. There was no exclusion regarding language or publication date, however, usage manuals, as well as technical notes were excluded. Results and Discussion: Of the 117 articles originally retrieved, only 11 met our inclusion and exclusion criteria. All articles highlight the guided endodontic technique as safe and emphasize its use in endodontic clinic challenges, none of the articles mentioned disadvantages in use. Conclusion: Guided endodontics is a safe and effective technique for critical situations such as calcified canals, root retainer removal, and apicectomy surgeries, in addition to being effective in preserving the dentin structure.
