Given the increase in obesity in recent years, the present work aims to identify the impacts of the association between obesity and female fertility and propose improvements to reduce these effects. In women, infertility associated with obesity can be caused by multifactorial causes. Among them, we can mention the mismatch in the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, the decrease in follicle-stimulating hormone, and luteinizing hormone. One of the consequences of obesity is infertility due to hormonal changes and fat accumulation in tissues. In this sense, assisted reproduction (AR) biotechnologies can help obese women to become pregnant. Given this, it is concluded that to mitigate the effects resulting from obesity, it is necessary to use AR techniques and also nutritional improvement to reduce the percentage of adipose tissue responsible for triggering these dysfunctions.
