For more than twenty years, the world has dealt with the outbreak of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The first occurrence of the pathology in Brazil took place in 1980, and those infected lived a reality that requires a sequence of restrictions, especially in terms of quality of life and family planning. Today, quite different from the beginning of the epidemic, HIV carriers can live with quality, have a longer life expectancy, and fully live their sexuality, being able to plan healthy offspring thanks to a personalization that refers to the insertion of traditions in their daily lives. that help them to live with the virus. The present work aims to analyze the range of safe gametes through seminal processing techniques for HIV serodiscordant couples, which, associated with the use of antiretroviral medication, minimize the chances of transmission of the virus between partners and to the baby with HIV. the use of the seminal triple wash technique, disinfecting the semen sample and separating the sperm from the seminal plasma. The HIV and antiretroviral therapy can cause male infertility, assisted human reproduction helps in this problem through techniques of seminal analysis and spermogram, analyzing sperm and their characteristics, and selecting only the fittest and healthy ones for conception. At the end of the process, it is up to the couple in question to choose in vitro fertilization (IVF) through Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) as the last step.
