The oral cavity might show variations on its normality standard, as well as it might express clinical signs of lesions which require a specific therapeutic approach. However, the buccal normality variations, usually, do not demand intervention. Therefore, the early recognition of oral alterations represents a clinical challenge in Stomatology. Thus, this research aimed to characterize qualitatively and quantitatively the normality variations observed in the oral cavity of users of the Stomatology service of the Centro de Especialidades Odontológicas Dr. Hélio de Siqueira Torres, from Goiana county, Pernambuco. This research is a cross-sectional study carried out from October of 2022 to March of 2023, with patients referred to the Stomatology service. Most of the sample was comprised by women (67%) with age average of 46,9 years old. The most frequent buccal normality variation was racial melanosis which corresponded to 21% (n=25), fllowed by Fordyce granules 19% (n=22) and coated tongue 17% (n=20). It was concluded that life habits and sociodemographic factors were directly related to present changes in the oral cavity. The presence of lesions in the oral cavity, as well as the high tobacco load, of the smoker individuals were related to lesions found in their oral cavity.
