Skin lesions as clinical evidence for nursing care in nephrology

Abstract

Objectives: to describe the greatest clinical evidence of cutaneous manifestations of patients with chronic kidney disease by nursing professionals in nephrology; discuss how the demands arising from these injuries guide basic nursing care. Method: Convergent-care research, with twenty-one nursing professionals, in a large hospital, located in the southeastern region of Brazil, from August 2012 to August 2014. Results: Dialogue with the team in the care setting pointed out that immunosuppression and the accumulation of slag in the patient's blood generate a lot of dryness, color change, capillary fragility, itching, changes in body mass and changes related to fistula in the skin. Conclusion: Developing research combined with practice has, collectively, sensitized professionals to look / see the complex dimension of the skin as a protective envelope and unique sensory response, whose injuries demand to detail the clinical evaluation, singularize the care plan and assistance provided to the patient.

Enfermeira graduada pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)/ Escola de Enfermagem Anna Nery (EEAN) em 2012. Doutora em Enfermahem pela EEAN/UFRJ (2019). Mestre em Enfermagem pela EEAN (2014). Especialista em Enfermagem em Nefrologia (2014). Especialista em UTI Neonatal e Pediátrica (2020). Membro do grupo de pesquisa intitulado "Representações e práticas do cuidado em saúde e de enfermagem", onde atua na linha de pesquisa: O cuidado como objeto de conhecimento e da prática da enfermagem do Núcleo de Pesquisa de Fundamentos do cuidado de Enfermagem - NUCLEARTE do Departamento de Enfermagem Fundamental da EEAN. E membro do grupo CEHCAC (Comunicação em Enfermagem Hospitalar – Clientes de Alta Complexidade), que se insere na área de domínio do Departamento de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica da Escola Enfermagem Anna Nery. Professora Assistente na Universidade Iguaçú (UNIG) e na Faculdade Duque de Caxias.
