Sexual violence against children and adolescents in a time of pandemic

The number of reports of sexual violence against children and adolescents in Brazil during the pandemic does not match the reality found. The article sought to analyze public data on notifications of sexual violence against children and adolescents and their epidemiological profile in Brazil and in the state of Paraná, for this, public information contained in the 15th Yearbook of the Brazilian Forum on Public Security 2019-2020 and also data were analyzed. quantitative data from the DATASUS database. Underreporting is sad evidence, its probable cause may be linked to cultural issues and, in times of a pandemic, to the closing of public facilities or a decrease in opening hours. In most cases, violence is perpetrated within the home, by family members or by people very close to them. The guarantee of the rights of this population in a special condition of development, violated by those who should guarantee it, is a reality that must be modified, and, for this, the academy, the Protection Network, the family and society can collaborate.
