The article presents the state of the art about publications on environmental education in basic education in a critical way bringing reflections on the impacts of Covid-19 on basic education, as well as issues that permeate the context (post) Covid-19, through a theoretical and conceptual methodology developed in 2022, using the technique of data collection through the systematization of bibliographic research in the database of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Staff (CAPES), Google Scholar and Scopus, and for the Scopus database, a mapping was made by titles, abstracts and keywords, of the descriptors "Environmental Education" and "Basic Education" and "Covid-19", in the time frame from 2019 to 2022 with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software. The results of the study presented an overview of current studies related to the thematic, with guidelines for Covid-19, Global Climate System, Global Conditions, Environmental Education, Vulnerable Population, Informatics Laboratory, Policy Implementation, and Curriculum. It can be concluded that the school is a space of potentiality to produce new knowledge and Environmental Education in Basic Education must present a collaborative and collective character and environmental needs should be active, providing transformations in social and environmental relations.
