Cirugía y traumatología buccomaxilofacial en tiempos de la pandemia COVID-19: Manejo, riesgos y perspectivas

Resumen

El síndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SARS-CoV-2) es una enfermedad respiratoria infecciosa con tasas de morbilidad y mortalidad significativas que evolucionarán en 2020 como una pandemia. La odontología se clasifica en la categoría de alto riesgo debido a que la mayoría de los procedimientos generan aerosoles y la cirugía oral y maxilofacial es la especialidad odontológica que realiza funciones tanto en el ámbito hospitalario como ambulatorio. El objetivo del presente trabajo es hacer un análisis del manejo, riesgos y perspectivas de la cirugía oral y oral y la cirugía maxilofacial en tiempos de pandemia de COVID-19, ya que se deben suspender las cirugías electivas y priorizar las urgencias con el objetivo principal. de la gestión de los riesgos para evitar el contagio en la atención de urgencias, sin embargo, de cara a las perspectivas de futuro, es fundamental adecuar a estos profesionales a la nueva realidad asistencial debido a que los diversos procedimientos realizados son de carácter urgente y urgente.
