¿Cómo las resinas bulk fill pueden ayudar en la optimización de las restauraciones en la salud pública? Revisión crítica integradora

Resumen

Introducción: Las resinas bulk fill surgieron de la búsqueda de un material estético con propiedades biomecánicas favorables y técnica simplificada, convirtiéndose en una estrategia para procedimientos restauradores en salud pública. Sin embargo, su aplicabilidad clínica aún genera incertidumbres para los profesionales. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar, a través de la revisión de la literatura, las características, propiedades y aplicabilidad clínica de las resinas bulk fill. Metodología: Estudio bibliográfico, con enfoque cualitativo, del tipo revisión crítica de literatura, realizado en las bases de datos PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Google Scholar y SciELO, seleccionando artículos de estudios de laboratorio y clínicos de 2015 a 2020. Resultados: Los estudios in vitro y los ensayos clínicos aleatorizados demuestran que las resinas bulk fill de consistencia regular han mostrado propiedades mecánicas similares a las resinas convencionales. Las resinas bulk fill, en diferentes grados de viscosidad, pueden ahorrar tiempo, con una técnica simplificada y obtener resultados satisfactorios. Se sugiere el uso de estas resinas en reconstrucciones extensas, situaciones que requieran agilidad, como el cuidado de niños y personas con discapacidad, incluso en el servicio público. Sin embargo, actualmente el alto costo y la mayor translucidez de algunas resinas que dan un aspecto grisáceo a las restauraciones de los dientes anteriores, son algunos factores que contraindican su uso. Conclusión: Las resinas bulk fill aparecen como un material indicado para restauraciones directas en dientes posteriores, principalmente por la simplificación de la técnica, permitiendo optimizar procedimientos estéticos que demandan mayor tiempo clínico, sin comprometer la calidad del tratamiento.
