Estudio comparativo sobre Lactancia Materna en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19 en un Hospital Amigo del Niño en el Nordeste de Brasil

Resumen

Alimento esencial para la nutrición de los niños, la leche materna es recomendada por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) exclusivamente hasta los 6 meses y de forma complementaria hasta por lo menos los 2 años y medio La lactancia materna es un reto y que el trabajo de los profesionales en promover la lactancia materna es fundamental para evaluar el impacto que tuvo el COVID-19 en la adopción de la lactancia materna por parte de las familias de los infantes. Este estudio epidemiológico, analítico, transversal y retrospectivo se realizó a través de historias clínicas de un ambulatorio de puericultura de un Centro Amigo del Niño. Hospital del Nordeste de Brasil. Un total de 148 infantes fueron evaluados y divididos en dos grupos, uno con niños nacidos hasta el 2019 y otro con niños nacidos a partir del 2020. AME) en la primera consulta, mientras que en el grupo nacidos hasta el 2019 el porcentaje fue de 8.82%. También hubo diferencia en el número de niños que cumplieron 6 meses en lactancia materna exclusiva, con un 25% en los nacidos hasta el 2019 y un 21,52% en los nacidos en Pandemia, se concluye que hubo un gran impacto en la adopción de la lactancia materna. en las familias brasileñas y que se necesitan medidas urgentes para fomentar esta práctica y ayudar a reducir las consecuencias en el período de la pandemia.
