El ayuno intermitente asociado con el café mejora el perfil lipídico y la esteatosis hepática en ratas hiperlipidémicas

Resumen

El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la asociación entre el ayuno intermitente (AI) y la ingesta de café en ratas Wistar pretratadas con una dieta rica en grasas. El estudio fue aprobado en CEUA nº 423 2071. Se utilizaron ratas Wistar recién nacidas, divididas aleatoriamente en 4 grupos: Control (CO, pienso comercial), Control+Café (CA, pienso comercial+café), Ayuno (IF, alimentación 24 horas/ ayuno 24 horas), Ayuno+Café (IFCA, alimentación 24 horas/ayuno 24 horas+café). Los animales fueron pretratados con una dieta hiperlipídica durante 30 días. El café administrado a los animales fue 100% Arábica, a una dosis de 0,5 mL por sonda al día. El peso se midió semanalmente durante todo el experimento y después de la eutanasia, se extrajo y pesó la grasa subcutánea y visceral. Se analizaron las tasas de glucosa e insulina, el perfil lipídico y la histología hepática. Los grupos en ayunas tuvieron resultados significativamente más bajos en el aumento de peso y masa grasa, mejor perfil lipídico y menor depósito de grasa hepática. Se observó una menor deposición de colágeno en los grupos que ingirieron café, así como un menor contenido de humedad. De los resultados obtenidos se puede concluir que la combinación de intervenciones puede ser beneficiosa en la reducción de la ganancia de peso y grasa corporal, además de tener un efecto sinérgico en la reducción de la esteatosis hepática en ratas pretratadas con una dieta rica en grasas.
