Capacitación en el hogar para adultos mayores con prevención de caídas: Artículo de revisión

Resumen

La incidencia de caídas entre las personas mayores se considera un problema de salud pública, ya que pueden provocar lesiones, fracturas, reducción de la capacidad funcional, hospitalizaciones, daños psicológicos, como miedo a caer, y también pueden provocar la muerte. Por lo tanto, este estudio tiene como objetivo revisar estudios intervencionistas en la literatura que incorporaron actividades físicas domiciliarias para prevenir caídas en la población de edad avanzada. La metodología abarcó un enfoque cualitativo basado en materiales disponibles en la base de datos PubMed (Biblioteca Nacional de Medicina), publicados entre los años 2013 y 2023. La cantidad de materiales utilizados en los análisis, luego de aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, suman 11 artículos. Considerando los resultados positivos en relación a las tasas de caídas entre los ancianos durante los procesos intervencionistas presentados en la mayoría de los estudios (6), y las mejoras funcionales del público objetivo proporcionadas por los demás estudios (5), se concluye que los ejercicios físicos y Las actividades que mejoran el rendimiento físico, son una buena opción para prevenir caídas en la población estudiada. Se espera que esta revisión de la literatura ayude a futuros estudios a llenar los vacíos en el alcance de las prácticas de ejercicio físico intervencionista en adultos mayores con riesgo de caídas.
