Cuidados y desafíos vividos por los padres en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales: Revisión integradora

Objetivo: caracterizar los cuidados y desafíos vividos por los padres frente a su hijo ingresado en la UCIN, realizando el Método Madre Canguro, en su primera etapa. Método: se trata de una revisión integradora con búsquedas realizadas en las siguientes bases de datos: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Science Direct, SCOPUS y Web of Science. Después de los criterios de elegibilidad, la muestra final estuvo compuesta por 34 artículos, resultando en ocho temas principales. Resultados: los temas encontrados fueron: Sentimientos antagónicos; Amamantamiento; Ambiente de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales; Relación con el equipo de salud y participación en el cuidado; Método Canguro; Redes de apoyo; Rol materno x Rol paterno. Conclusión: se observó diversidad en el abordaje de las experiencias de los padres en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales. Hubo unanimidad sobre la importancia del vínculo temprano entre padres e hijos, requiriendo mayor sensibilidad de los profesionales de la salud en la integración temprana entre ambos. Aportes a la práctica: a partir de los resultados fue posible elaborar y validar la guía práctica con miras a ayudar a los padres durante la internación en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales.
