Condromatose Sinovial da Articulação Temporomandibular (ATM): Um relato de caso

Resumen

La Condromatosis Sinovial (CS) es una afección benigna caracterizada por la formación de cartílago metaplásico en la membrana sinovial de la articulación, dando lugar a numerosos cuerpos osteocartilaginosos que pueden estar adheridos o no, se encuentran predominantemente en el espacio intraarticular, aunque también pueden encontrarse en regiones extraarticulares. El CS afecta principalmente a las grandes articulaciones sinoviales, especialmente la rodilla, la cadera, el codo y el tobillo, mientras que la afectación de la Articulación Temporomandibular (ATM) es rara. El objetivo de este artículo es mostrar que la escisión mediante cirugía abierta de la ATM es una opción segura, estéticamente favorable y libre de recurrencia, siempre y cuando se planifique y realice correctamente. Aquí presentamos un caso de SC de la ATM, diagnosticado por signos y síntomas clínicos asociados con exámenes de Tomografía Computarizada facial y Resonancia Magnética de la ATM y tratamiento mediante escisión quirúrgica abierta. El caso clínico presentado muestra cómo la cirugía abierta contribuye a la extirpación directa de los cuerpos osteocondrales, permitiendo la extirpación completa del SC de forma segura y con baja incidencia de secuelas motoras, sensitivas y estéticas para el paciente. Ninguna recurrencia hasta la fecha.
