Efecto ansiolítico de los aceites esenciales: una revisión de estudios preclínicos y clínicos

Resumen

La ansiedad participa en la defensa natural del organismo, sin embargo, puede ser patológica, cuando los síntomas comienzan a interferir en la rutina del individuo, provocando pérdida de calidad de vida. Los aceites esenciales (AEs) son metabolitos secundarios con numerosas actividades farmacológicas y biológicas, entre las que podemos destacar la actividad ansiolítica. Assim, o objetivo era realizar uma revisión sistemática dos últimos 9 anos no amplio ámbito de la farmacología y toxicología, y comprobar qué AE tienen actividad ansiolítica, qué pruebas se han realizado y los posibles mecanismos implicados. Se realizó uma revisión bibliográfica de carácter cualitativo y cuantitativo, utilizando a base de dados Scopus, donde se publicaron estudios originales, publicado entre enero de 2010 e 10 de agosto de 2019, del tipo de ensayo clínico y preclínico que apresenta resultados referidos a la atividade ansiolítica de los AEs, excluindo aquellos estudios que não comprendem a área de farmacología y / o toxicología. A final desta análise, dos 71 artigos encontrados, 18 foram selecionados para componer esta revisión. Esta revisión permite visualizar o panorama dos estudos preclínicos e clínicos para avaliar la ansiedad con el uso de AEs nos últimos 9 anos, señalando que además de la AE deLavandula angustifolia , otras AEs también pueden ser prometedoras, como los AEs obtenidas de especies del género Citrus . No entanto, existe um escasso de estudos clínicos que demonstram a eficiência e segurança do uso de estos AEs no tratamento da ansiedade, o que permite a abertura da investigação nesta área para o desenvolvimento e desenvolvimento de novos ansiolíticos naturais.
