Evidências científicas sobre a presença de transtornos mentais resultantes da infecção por SARS-CoV-2 em pessoas com COVID-19: scoping review

Resumo

Objetivos: Identificar evidências científicas sobre a presença de transtornos mentais em decorrência da infecção por SARS-CoV-2, em pessoas diagnosticadas com COVID-19; identificar os tipos de transtornos mentais; descrever a associação fisiopatológica da infecção por SARS-CoV-2 com os transtornos mentais; e descrever as características de idade e sexo da população estudada. Trata-se de uma Scoping Review realizada nas bases de dados: MEDLINE via PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science, BVS, Cochrane Library, SCOPUS, Embase, LILACS. E nos seguintes sites: Google Scholar, ProQuest Dissertations and Theses e Grey Literature. Foram utilizados os descritores (comorbidity OR sequel OR complications) AND (Mental Health OR Mental disorders OR Mental Illness) AND (SARS-CoV-2 OR COVID-19 OR coronavirus). Os critérios de inclusão foram: artigos que respondessem à questão norteadora, disponíveis na íntegra, com abordagens metodológicas variadas, online, em inglês, espanhol e português. Excluíram-se: artigos sem livre acesso; cartas ao editor de cunho opinativo; editoriais; e livros. Selecionaram-se 10 estudos, que apontaram a alta prevalência de ocorrência de transtornos mentais em pacientes diagnosticados com COVID-19, sua etiologia é multifatorial, sendo atribuída aos danos do processo infeccioso e aos agentes estressores, resultantes da pandemia atual. Os transtornos encontrados foram: transtornos estressores; de humor; psicóticos; obsessivo-compulsivo; de ansiedade e sono-vigília. Os que tiveram maior prevalência de acometimento foram de ansiedade e depressão. Não houve diferença significativa com relação a prevalência por sexo. A média de idade dos participantes foi de 46,1 anos. Assim, faz-se necessário o conhecimento das possíveis sequelas da COVID-19, visando, oferecer suporte de forma integral a esta população.
