Resiliência e qualidade de vida em pacientes com câncer de cabeça e pescoço

Resumo

Objetivos: Comparar os escores de resiliência e qualidade de vida em pacientes com carcinoma de células escamosas de cabeça e pescoço (CCECP) submetidos a tratamento cirúrgico em diferentes momentos do tratamento e correlacionar tais variáveis. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo de coorte com abordagem quantitativa, desenvolvido com 28 pacientes diagnosticados com CCECP, submetidos a tratamento cirúrgico e acompanhados no pré-operatório (T1), quatro a seis semanas (T2) e seis meses após o término do tratamento (T3). Aplicaram-se o Mini exame do estado mental (MEEM), a Escala de resiliência e o questionário de qualidade de vida UW-QOL nos três momentos. Resultados: Comparando-se a resiliência e seus domínios nos três tempos, não houve diferença significativa. Em relação à QV, observou-se diferença significativa no domínio função física, quando comparados T1 e T2. Notou-se correlação positiva entre a resiliência e a depressão. Conclusão: Dada a correlação encontrada, sugere-se que as variáveis estudadas sejam analisadas nesse grupo de pacientes no momento do diagnóstico, permitindo a equipe traçar táticas para aumentar a resiliência, qualidade de vida e contribuir para o sucesso do tratamento e do prognóstico.
