Osteonecrose dos Maxilares Relacionada a Medicamentos (ONMM), uma revisão de literatura acerca do conhecimento dos profissionais e orientação dada ao paciente para redução do risco

A Osteonecrose Dos Maxilares Relacionada a Medicamentos (ONMM) é uma complicação que pode ocorrer na região maxilofacial devido ao uso de medicações antirreabsortivas e antiangiogênicas e que afeta negativamente a qualidade de vida do paciente. O conhecimento adequado por parte dos profissionais de saúde envolvidos no cuidado desse paciente, principalmente médicos e dentistas, com relação a essa complicação é essencial para identificação dos pacientes “em risco” e consequentemente para o controle dos fatores predisponentes e para orientação e manejo adequado desse paciente. O objetivo deste estudo foi compreender sobre a influência do conhecimento dos profissionais sobre a ONMM e orientação dada aos pacientes para redução do risco da mesma. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura de caráter exploratório e de análise descritiva qualitativa, realizada nas bases de dados da BVS e Pubmed e utilizando descritores indexados no DeCs. Resultados: Diversos estudos apontaram o conhecimento insuficiente dos profissionais de saúde. A maior parte dos estudos utilizaram de questionários e foram voltados para profissionais médicos, dentistas, farmacêuticos e enfermeiros. Conclusão: O conhecimento dos profissionais é fundamental para passar informação e orientação para o paciente e influencia diretamente na incidência da ONMM. Adotar medidas preventivas, portanto, é essencial para o manejo da Osteonecrose.
