Hábitos alimentares durante a pandemia da COVID-19: O que mudou?

Resumo

A presente revisão visa realizar uma abordagem sobre os principais impactos causados pelo isolamento social decorrente da pandemia da COVID-19 sobre os hábitos alimentares de algumas populações. Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura realizada no período de julho de 2022, construída para realizar a explanação das mudanças de hábitos alimentares acarretadas pela pandemia da COVID-19. O procedimento de elaboração dividiu-se em 2 etapas: Primeiro definiu-se a pergunta de pesquisa: Quais as principais modificações observadas nos hábitos alimentares das populações durante o isolamento social? Em seguida foi realizada busca por artigos nas bases de dados para o fomento teórico discursivo acerca da indagação. Foi realizada inicialmente a leitura de todos os títulos e resumos, respeitando-se os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, resultando na elegibilidade 22 de artigos para compor os resultados e discussão do estudo. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que as medidas de distanciamento social podem incentivar os consumidores a diminuir o consumo de frutas e vegetais e aumentar o consumo de produtos ultraprocessados com teor excessivo de açúcar, gordura e sódio, com ingestão aumentada principalmente de carnes vermelhas e processadas, fast food, doces e cereais refinados. Em conclusão a literatura disponível, as práticas alimentares foram uma das que mais se modificaram em diversas populações, em decorrência das circunstâncias, de modo que o consumo de alimentos poucos saudáveis de características hipercalóricas e baixo valor nutricional tendeu a aumentar em detrimento da alimentação caseira antes prevalente.
