Efeitividade das rinsas de mouth na redução da carga viral SARS-CoV-2 em saliva. Uma revisão narrativa

Resumo

A detecção do coronavírus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) da síndrome respiratória aguda grave em fluidos orais e a alta geração de aerossóis durante procedimentos odontológicos levou à necessidade de buscar medidas para controlar a transmissão desta doença. O objetivo deste estudo é apresentar as evidências clínicas disponíveis sobre a redução da carga viral e a ação virucidativa de diferentes anti-sépticos orais contra o SARS-CoV-2, e propor seu uso como uma estratégia preventiva eficaz antes dos cuidados odontológicos. Há evidências clínicas sobre o uso de vários bochechos em diferentes concentrações e tempos para reduzir a carga viral do SARS-CoV-2 na saliva. Esta revisão da literatura se concentra na evidência clínica disponível indicando o uso de bochechos como uma medida preventiva eficaz na redução da carga viral salivar do SARS-CoV-2 para evitar a transmissão cruzada da doença Covid-19 durante o tratamento odontológico. Uma pesquisa bibliográfica das informações disponíveis de setembro de 2020 a maio de 2022 foi realizada no PubMed, Google Scholar e Cochrane. Clorexidina 0,12%, iodopovidona 0,5-1% ou cloreto de cetilpiridínio 0,04-0,075% reduzem a carga viral do SARS-CoV-2 na saliva e podem ser usados para reduzir o risco de transmissão do SARS-CoV-2.
