Heróis, estudantes e videogames na escola

Na Instituição Educacional Colégio Técnico San Cristóbal Sur, foi observada uma falta de motivação nos estudantes em relação ao seu processo de aprendizagem; essa problemática se evidencia nos resultados obtidos em testes de conhecimento aplicados e, ao realizar um rastreamento histórico, esses resultados estão diminuindo. Com o propósito de abordar esse problema, foi implementada uma estratégia baseada em gamificação, cujo objetivo é aprimorar os processos de aprendizagem, a apropriação dos conceitos, sua transcendência e, consequentemente, a aquisição de habilidades na área de eletrônica digital básica, por meio da criação e desenvolvimento de videogames, implementados no oitavo ano. Essa estratégia foi aplicada a um grupo de estudantes com idades entre 12 e 15 anos, que deveriam criar seus próprios videogames relacionados ao conteúdo de Eletrônica Digital Básica. A estratégia envolvia seguir os passos da jornada do herói e relacionar os conceitos de Eletrônica Digital Básica com a trama da história do videogame. O processo de projetar e construir o videogame envolvia revisitar e conectar os conceitos em um contexto criativo, o que melhorou significativamente a compreensão e a retenção. Além disso, foi evidenciado um aumento progressivo nos resultados do grupo experimental em comparação com o grupo de controle. Por outro lado, foi implementada uma metodologia mista que demonstrou que a abordagem gamificada, juntamente com a criação de videogames, teve um impacto positivo na compreensão e apropriação dos conceitos pelos estudantes.
