Liraglutida: Uma revisão bibliográfica

Introdução: O Liraglutida é um composto encontrado no saxenda, medicamento injetável, indicado para o tratamento de excesso de peso e obesidade em adultos. Objetivo: Descrever o mecanismo ativo da liraglutida para informar aos usuários sobre o uso correto do medicamento e os seus possíveis efeitos colaterais. Método: Revisão bibliográfica que utilizou como base o PUBMED (National Library of Medicine) para a pesquisa de artigos. Foram utilizados três descritores em duas associações: “liraglutida and obesity” e “(liraglutide obesity) AND (liraglutide effects)”. Resultados: A associação “liraglutida and obesity” permitiu a recuperação de 45 manuscritos, dos quais 11 foram selecionados para compor essa revisão. Para a associação “(liraglutide obesity) AND (liraglutide effects)” foram obtidos 40 resultados, e 5 artigos foram selecionados. Dessa forma, 16 artigos foram analisados, e desses, 15 apresentaram resultado efetivo para perda de peso. Entre os efeitos colaterais, destacam-se: náuseas, vômitos, diarreia, constipação. Conclusão: Observou-se que uso da liraglutida é relevante para redução do peso corporal, e que o aumento da quantidade de droga injetada interfere, de modo proporcional, na redução das taxas de colesterol, das pessoas que fazem uso do medicamento.
