Objective: Identify the most common oral changes consistent with premature oral aging syndrome (POAS) and the potential risk factors associated with the condition. Methods: The literature search was conducted using terms from DeCS and MeSH: “Envelhecimento precoce”, “Premature Aging”, “Desgaste dos dentes”, “Tooth Wear”, “Sensibilidade da dentina” “Dentin sensitivity”, “Recessão gengival” and “Gingival recession” in the PubMed/Medline, LILACS, and SciELO databases. Additionally, only full-text studies in English, Portuguese, and Spanish from the last ten years (2015–2025) were selected. Studies with different methodological approaches that discuss oral changes consistent with the clinical signs of premature oral aging were considered, even if they did not directly use this terminology. Results: A total of 769 articles were identified, of which 17 were selected. Regarding oral changes frequently associated with MS, the most common finding in the literature was dental erosion (in 52.63% of the selected articles), followed by dentin hypersensitivity (21.05%), non-carious cervical lesions (15.79%), gingival recession (5.26%), and dental attrition (5.26%). Regarding risk factors, the most frequently reported were an acidic diet and energy drinks, gastroesophageal reflux, bruxism and temporomandibular disorders, stress and anxiety, and problems with brushing. Conclusion: Oral changes consistent with premature oral aging syndrome primarily involve tooth wear. The most frequent clinical manifestations were dental erosion, dentin hypersensitivity, non-carious cervical lesions, gingival recession, and dental attrition.
