The general objective was to design and implement a methodology for the physical organization and optimization of the "graveyard" area, as well as a semi-automated inventory control system for the area, in order to improve operational efficiency, material traceability and resource utilization. Inefficient inventory management in industrial storage areas causes significant economic and operational losses. This study analyzes the problem of the material "graveyard" in a railway company, characterized by disorganization, lack of traceability and underutilization of resources. The methodology included continuous improvement tools, technical classification of materials according to maneuverability, size and weight, layout redesign and development of an app in AppSheet for digital recording and real-time consultation. The results show a reduction in material location time, greater inventory accuracy, space release and material recovery. It is concluded that the integration of industrial engineering methodologies with no-code tools, such as AppSheet, transforms critical areas into strategic resources, improving traceability, efficiency and operational profitability.
