This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture on employee motivation through a case study conducted in the hotel sector in Nampula, Mozambique. Specifically, it seeks to characterize institutional practices and norms, evaluate factors associated with employee motivation, and examine the relationship between organizational culture, motivation, and commitment at work. The research adopted a descriptive mixed-methods approach, using questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis for data collection. The results showed that, although employees demonstrate willingness to contribute to organizational goals, motivation in the daily work context tends to be more moderate, being influenced by factors such as hierarchical relationships, professional recognition, internal communication, and coherence between institutional values and organizational practices. It is concluded that organizational culture influences employee motivation, although this influence does not manifest itself in a fully positive or consistent manner in the studied context.
