Computerization and optimization of inventory control in a company from Eastern Minas Gerais: An applied study

Inventory management is one of the main challenges for organizations seeking efficiency in resource use and greater competitiveness. This study focuses on the adoption of computerized control tools in a company located in Eastern Minas Gerais, specifically in its warehouse sector, assessing the effects of this modernization on internal processes. The central objective is to investigate how computerization can support cost and time reduction, as well as propose improvements through the application of the ABC Curve, reorder point, and safety stock. The research, based on real company data, shows that a small fraction of stored items accounts for most of the invested value, reinforcing the relevance of management based on classification and continuous monitoring. It is concluded that the computerization of inventory control, when strategically structured, directly contributes to waste reduction, greater service agility, and strengthened business competitiveness.
