Introduction: Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death among women in Brazil. Early diagnosis, through mammography, is essential to increase the chances of a cure. The objective of this study was to analyze data related to mammography and histopathological examinations in municipalities of the Triângulo Mineiro region, such as Araguari, Uberaba, and Uberlândia, from 2020 to 2023. Methodology: The research is quantitative and descriptive, using data from SISCAN and DATASUS on the performance of mammograms and histopathological exams in the cities of Araguari, Uberlândia, and Uberaba, from 2020 to 2023. Results and Discussion: The results show greater screening coverage in Uberlândia and consequent lower mortality, with a decrease in exams performed during the pandemic. The pandemic negatively impacted screening, but the resumption of the process in 2023 improved the rates. Histopathological analysis revealed a predominance of invasive ductal carcinoma. Conclusion: The research highlights the importance of early diagnosis and access to mammography, especially in outcomes such as mortality. Inequality in access to health care highlights the need for more effective public policies to reduce breast cancer mortality, especially in areas with lower service coverage.
