Cirurgía segura en pediatría: Una revisión integrativa

Resumen

La adopción de medidas que promuevan la seguridad quirúrgica es esencial para prevenir eventos adversos y mejorar los desenlaces clínicos en pacientes pediátricos. Así, la presente revisión tiene como objetivo analizar la evidencia científica sobre el uso de estrategias innovadoras relacionadas con la seguridad del paciente quirúrgico pediátrico para la prevención de eventos adversos Este estudio analizó evidencias científicas sobre estrategias orientadas a la seguridad del paciente quirúrgico pediátrico, con énfasis en la prevención de eventos adversos. Se trata de una revisión integrativa realizada en las bases LILACS, PubMed, Scopus y Web of Science. Se identificaron 2.088 estudios; tras aplicar los criterios de exclusión, se incluyeron 13. Los checklists quirúrgicos fueron los instrumentos más utilizados. Las innovaciones incluyeron análisis de procesos, guías de emergencia, reporte de errores, entrevistas, revisión de registros, juguetes y mobiliario adaptado. También se destacó el compromiso de los niños y sus padres en el proceso de verificación de la seguridad. La implementación de estas estrategias mostró beneficios comprobados. Sin embargo, la adhesión de los profesionales al llenado de los checklists y de los padres a las acciones propuestas sigue siendo un desafío, siendo necesario adoptar medidas que fomenten una mayor participación.
