Bacillus aryabhattai como mitigador do déficit hídrico no cultivo do algodoeiro

Resumo

A produção brasileira de algodão enfrenta desafios significativos devido ao déficit hídrico, especialmente em cultivos de segunda safra no MATOPIBA. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito do bioinsumo Bacillus aryabhattai (Auras®) na germinação, desenvolvimento inicial e tolerância ao estresse hídrico do algodoeiro. A pesquisa foi conduzida em duas fases: a primeira avaliou a qualidade fisiológica de cinco cultivares (BRS 286, BRS 433 FL B2RF, BRS Rubi, BRS Jade e BRS Verde) tratadas com cinco doses do bioinsumo (0, 2, 4, 6 e 8 mL kg⁻¹). Na segunda fase, a cultivar BRS Jade, que apresentou melhor desempenho inicial, foi submetida a regimes de irrigação plena e déficit hídrico por sete dias. Os resultados mostraram que a dose de 2 mL kg⁻¹ foi a mais eficaz para o desenvolvimento radicular em areia. Sob estresse hídrico, as plantas tratadas com o bioinsumo, independentemente da dose, mantiveram crescimento em altura e acúmulo de biomassa equivalentes às plantas sob irrigação plena, diferenciando-se positivamente do controle sem tratamento. Conclui-se que o B. aryabhattai atua como um eficiente biostimulante e mitigador de déficit hídrico, promovendo maior resiliência fisiológica e morfológica nas fases iniciais da cultura do algodoeiro.
