Uso de enfoques en línea para prevenir los trastornos alimentarios: Una revisión narrativa

Los trastornos alimentarios están asociados con altos costos sociales y personales. La literatura ha desarrollado estudios de prevención a lo largo de los años con efectos positivos en las intervenciones en el aula. A medida que el uso de la tecnología ha crecido en el área de la salud, es necesario estudiar nuevas formas de intervención a distancia, para que tenga un mayor alcance. La siguiente revisión tiene como objetivo presentar una descripción general de las intervenciones en línea para la prevención de los trastornos alimentarios y discutir los caminos futuros para implementar programas en los países en desarrollo. A partir de la búsqueda de literatura, se identificaron diecinueve estudios que probaron enfoques en línea, con la mayoría de los programas basados en la teoría cognitivo-conductual o la disonancia cognitiva. Los programas incidieron en la reducción de los factores de riesgo, especialmente en relación con la insatisfacción corporal. A pesar de no existir en los países en desarrollo, debido al crecimiento del acceso a la tecnología, las inversiones en estrategias de prevención en línea, en países como Brasil, son prometedoras, ya que requieren menos inversión y pueden producir impactos poblacionales relevantes en problemas relacionados con el peso, tales como como trastornos alimentarios y obesidad.
