Uso de abordagens online na prevenção dos transtornos alimentares: Uma revisão narrativa

Os transtornos alimentares estão associados a elevados custos sociais e pessoais. A literatura vem desenvolvendo estudos de prevenção ao longo dos anos com efeitos positivos em intervenções escolares presenciais. Como o uso de tecnologia tem crescido na área da saúde, faz-se necessário estudar novas formas de intervenção a distância, de forma que esta tenha um maior alcance. A seguinte revisão tem por objetivo apresentar um panorama das intervenções online de prevenção dos transtornos alimentares e discutir os caminhos futuros para a implementação de programas em países em desenvolvimento. A partir da busca bibliográfica, foram identificados dezenove estudos que testaram abordagens online, sendo a maioria dos programas baseados na teoria cognitivo-comportamental ou na dissonância cognitiva. Os programas trouxeram impacto na redução de fatores de risco, principalmente em relação à insatisfação corporal. Apesar de serem inexistentes em países em desenvolvimento, devido ao crescimento do acesso à tecnologia, os investimentos em estratégias de prevenção online, em países como o Brasil, são promissores, uma vez que exigem menores investimentos e podem produzir impactos populacionais relevantes em problemas relacionados ao peso, como os transtornos alimentares e a obesidade.
