Resumen

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar una revisión sistemática integrativa de la literatura sobre la modulación del eje intestino-cerebro basada en la dieta en el síndrome del intestino irritable (SII). El síndrome del intestino irritable es una enfermedad gastrointestinal crónica que tiene una relación directa con el eje intestino-cerebro, generando problemas psicológicos. Por lo tanto, los modelos dietéticos juegan un papel importante en la modulación de este eje, contribuyendo a la mejoría de los síntomas. Desde esta perspectiva, este estudio es una revisión sistemática de la literatura, en la que se seleccionaron 14 artículos de 2020 a 2025. La investigación encontrada discutió diferentes tipos de estrategias nutricionales para mejorar los síntomas del síndrome, incluyendo dietas más restrictivas, tradicionales y personalizadas, con resultados similares en cuanto a la mejora de los aspectos gastrointestinales y psicológicos. Se concluye, por lo tanto, que es importante evaluar el contexto del paciente para aplicar un enfoque que lo beneficie al máximo, destacando el papel de un equipo multidisciplinario.
