Implementação de cuidados paliativos e seu impacto no AVC agudo: Revisão de literatura

O Acidente Vascular Cerebral (AVC) é uma das principais causas de mortalidade e incapacidade global. Este estudo objetiva analisar o impacto da implementação precoce dos cuidados paliativos na qualidade de vida e na tomada de decisão em pacientes com AVC agudo. A metodologia utilizada foi uma revisão integrativa da literatura, com buscas nas bases de dados PubMed e BVS (LILACS), selecionando 22 artigos publicados entre 2006 e 2025. Os resultados demonstram que, embora os cuidados paliativos melhorem significativamente o controle de sintomas como dor e dispneia (aumentando em até 31 vezes o uso de opioides quando necessário) e reduzam a ansiedade familiar, sua implementação ainda é tardia e subutilizada. Barreiras culturais e falhas na comunicação prognóstica levam a intervenções fúteis e ao sofrimento não tratado. Conclui-se que a integração precoce da abordagem paliativa, coexistindo com o tratamento curativo, é essencial para alinhar as condutas médicas aos valores do paciente, otimizando o conforto e a satisfação familiar sem antecipar o óbito.
