Bullying is a significant social issue that affects individuals' psychosocial dimensions, often linked to physical characteristics, including dentofacial traits such as malocclusion. The objective of this scoping review is to investigate and understand the association between the presence of malocclusion and bullying among children and adolescents, exploring the impact of this relationship on social dynamics and on the quality of life of the affected individuals. Research was conducted using the PubMed, Livivo, Scielo, and BVS databases, as well as Google Scholar, without restrictions on language or date. The study selection followed the PCC strategy (Population, Concept, and Context), focusing on children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years with dental malocclusion, the relationship between malocclusion and bullying (physical, verbal, psychological, and social), and varied social environments.A total of 1171 articles were identified, of which seven met the eligibility criteria. Participants were aged between 7 and 17 years, and data on malocclusion and bullying experiences were obtained through evaluations and questionnaires. Associations between bullying and malocclusion were stronger in severe cases, particularly related to maxillary overjet. Despite methodological discrepancies among studies, the results suggest that certain types of malocclusion may be more associated with bullying. However, further studies are needed to deepen the understanding and establish this relationship.
