Avaliação da correlação entre má oclusão e bullying em crianças e adolescentes: Uma revisão de escopo

O bullying é um problema social significativo que afeta a dimensão psicossocial dos indivíduos, muitas vezes relacionado a características físicas, incluindo as dentofaciais, como má oclusão. o objetivo dessa revisão de escopo é investigar e compreender a associação entre a presença de má oclusão e a prática de bullying em crianças e adolescentes explorando o impacto dessa relação nas dinâmicas sociais e na qualidade de vida dos indivíduos afetados. As pesquisas foram realizadas nas bases de dados PubMed, Livivo, Scielo e BVS, além do Google Acadêmico, sem restrição de idioma ou data. A seleção dos estudos seguiu a estratégia PCC (População, Conceito e Contexto), considerando crianças e adolescentes de 6 a 18 anos com má oclusão dentária, a relação entre má oclusão e bullying (físico, verbal, psicológico e social) e ambientes sociais variados. Foram identificados 1171 artigos, dos quais sete atenderam aos critérios de elegibilidade. Os participantes tinham entre 7 e 17 anos, e os dados sobre má oclusão e experiências de bullying foram obtidos por meio de avaliações e questionários. As associações entre bullying e má oclusão foram mais fortes em casos graves, especialmente relacionados ao overjet maxilar. Apesar das diferenças metodológicas entre os estudos, os resultados indicam que certos tipos de má oclusão podem estar mais associados ao bullying, embora estudos futuros sejam necessários para aprofundar essa relação.
