Abstract

Advances in analytical technologies and increased access to laboratory testing have generated a growing volume of information available for clinical practice. However, fragmented interpretation of laboratory results, focused on isolated parameters, may limit the understanding of complex pathophysiological processes. This article aims to discuss the importance of integrated interpretation of laboratory tests in biomedical practice, analyzing the limitations of compartmentalized readings and highlighting contemporary perspectives in Laboratory Medicine. This is a narrative and analytical review based on national and international scientific literature. The analysis demonstrates that integrating hematological, biochemical, and inflammatory tests enhances diagnostic potential, supports the identification of pathophysiological patterns, and improves clinical decision-making. It is concluded that valuing an integrated interpretative approach strengthens biomedical practice and contributes to a more critical and systemic Laboratory Medicine.
