Sporotrichosis is a zoonotic mycosis caused by the dimorphic fungus Sporothrix spp. In dogs, is a disease characterized by cutaneous and lymphocutaneous lesions, whereas the osteoarticular form is rare. This article describes a case of polyostoic hematogenous osteomyelitis by Sporothrix spp. The patient, a female dog, of mixed breed, arrieved for the radiographic examination with chronic lameness. The radiographic images showed agressive bone lesions in the right humerus, femur, radioulna and tibia-fibula, from where materials were collected for microbiological culture that showed the presence of Sporothrix spp. The patient was treated for 120 days with itraconazole, 10 mg/kg/day, orally, in association with potassium iodide, 5 mg/kg/twice a day, orally. Radiographic follow-up was performed 30, 90 and 270 days after the start of treatment. There was improvement in radiographic findings, but without complete resolution. This study warns that bone sporotrichosis should be included in the list of differential diagnoses of agressive polyostotic bone lesions associated with chronic lameness, especially in endemic regions. The radiographic examination was effective and very important in the identification and description of the sites and type of lesions of bone sporotrichosis.
