Abstract

Dissociative identity disorder (DID) can be explained as a disruption of identity, represented by two or more different personality states, in which there is a discontinuity between the “sense of self” and self-control. In the last decade, TDI has been the subject of several scientific researches, with regard to psychology, several alternatives have been studied and even though there is no consensus on the ideal intervention, there are some descriptions of how the therapeutic project of these patients should happen. The general objective of the study is to analyze in the scientific literature therapies used in the treatment of dissociative identity disorder. This is an integrative literature review, a procedure chosen for enabling the synthesis and analysis of scientific knowledge already produced on the topic in question. Seven studies were included, in which 57.1% had a qualitative approach; all studies were in English (100%), originating in the United States (71.4%), with a prevalence of studies published in the Journal of Trauma & Dissociation (28.6%), in relation to the research design, there was a prevalence of case series (57.1%) with evidence level five. This study allowed a greater understanding of the therapies associated with the treatment of dissociative personality disorder, where the following stand out: cognitive behavioral therapy; phase-based, trauma-focused therapy and; psychotherapy, at this point, it was observed that they can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments.
