Objective: to investigate existing research in the literature on aspects related to the caregiver burden of a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (APT), such as: support network, access to health services for follow-up with specialized professionals, financial support and housing. Methodology: This is a literature review. The search for studies was carried out in eight databases, using the combination of the following descriptors: “Child”, “Autistic Spectrum Disorder” and “Caregiver”, as well as their respective synonyms in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Studies from the last 10 years were selected. Results: The caregivers are mainly female, with an average age of 42 years, more than half have some degree of training, this being higher education training or some other course. Caregivers have difficulties with the daily care of the child, financial difficulties and hardly have a support network. Conclusion: From the results obtained, it is observed that these caregivers are overloaded and need help, especially with regard to the care and needs of the child.
