The use of cannabis in the treatment of Alzheimer

As the population ages, the incidence of some neurodegenerative diseases that affect the functionality of older people increases, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). It is a progressive neurological pathology characterized by the loss of nerve stimuli from brain neurons. This paper reports the main traits of AD, such as cognitive impairment, and progressive memory loss. However, recently in Brazil, the use of Cannabis herb as a herbal medicine for neurodegenerative diseases has increased considerably, and the challenge of this project is to present the main aspects of the disease, evaluating this new therapeutic alternative, analyzing its metabolic activity through scientific evidence, emphasizing the improvement of the quality of life in the treated patients. The work was produced through a bibliographic research of the integrative literature review type, on the benefits of this compound in the CNS. Thus, at the end of this research, it was possible to assess the relevance of the herb and the impact of these findings on current neurology.
