Pregnancy is a period of intense physical, emotional and psychological transformations, due to its relationship with your body, which is undergoing intense modification. Among the changes that occurred, one of them is postpartum hair loss, which can cause low self-esteem in the mother, as hair is synonymous with a woman's sensuality. Objective: To describe the impacts of Aesthetics on hair therapy in postpartum women. Methodology: This is a descriptive literature review, based on research in books, articles and internet sites, such as Scielo, Bireme, academic google, aiming at a broad study on postpartum hair loss. Results: with the loss of hair there is a great psychological impact on the puerperal woman, she may become apathetic to the point of no longer feeling the urge to get dressed and put on makeup. Not liking your own reflection in the mirror can affect confidence, in many cases, social isolation occurs, the mother even avoids leaving the house. Conclusion: Hair therapy contributes significantly to the reduction of low self-esteem in postpartum women, contributing to the recovery of self-confidence through hair growth provided by aesthetics.
