This study demonstrates the relevance of humanized dental care in patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), even in the face of the difficulties that professionals encounter in the management, since these generally have motor alterations and a restricted collaboration to perform the necessary oral care. It considers the main characteristics of TEA, concepts from the medical and dental viewpoints, and makes relevant observations on the dental surgeon's work to provide an individualized and effective treatment. Given this importance, we present the case report conducted in the clinic school of Sulamérica Faculdade in the care of an adult patient with ASD, aiming to expose the need for further study on the subject for a better conduct of cases in dentistry.
