Abstract

Psoriasis is a disease of great relevance in the area of dermatology affecting about 1.3% of Brazilians and is related to psychosocial injury and quality of life of patients. Because it is a pathology that affects the largest and most exposed organ in the human body, the skin is very close to the aesthetics and well-being of this individual, thus the dermatological professional in addition to evaluating the clinical picture must make an evaluation of the quality of life of the patient to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment as well as the prognostic. The overall objective of this research is to evaluate the interference of the degree of injuries in quality of life in patients diagnosed with psoriasis in a Specialized Care Center in the municipality of Cascavel-PR. 20 patients aged between 18 and 75 years were interviewed through two questionnaires: the first completed by the dermatologist on Psoriasis Severity Index (PASI) and the second completed by the patient on Psoriasis Disability Index (PDI). Through this research we realize that psoriasis causes a negative impact on the quality of life, it was also analyzed that the severity of the disease relates to the greatest impact on the patient's life, in addition to psoriasis having a more significant impact on women, middle-aged and younger patients. It is concluded, then, that an individualized and multi-professional approach with psychological and dermatological follow-up is necessary.
