Cross-sectional, observational and documented study with the knowledge of knowledge of knowledge of five institutions of courses of 9th and 10th of the Federal District (knowledge of knowledge of the avulsion type). A student applied a three-part prepared and validated by Fujita et al, composed of three parts, knowledge and management of trauma composed to 241. Comparison between the variables used was the Chi-square test with significance level (p< 0.05). With training and training in trained trauma first aid, a statistical difference was observed between training (Chi assessment-square, p=0.002), with institutions B and C having a lower institution training than institution E, the largest. Regarding the management to be performed after avulsion, institution B had the highest percentage of correct answers for the first stage (tooth washing) (p<0.05), however, when evaluating the correct sequence, institution C presented the highest percentage of correct answers. (p<0.05). Regarding the storage medium, the options saline and milk were the most chosen and institution E had a higher percentage of correct answers for saline solution, when compared to the others (p<0.05). Relating to the priority of the storage media, the correct average was 28% (68/241), adding up all the universities. The findings suggest that the knowledge of dentistry students in the Federal District about the management of avulsed permanent teeth was unsatisfactory.
