The following work is a study with a qualitative approach, carried out to understand what are the assumptions, characteristics and evidence of scientific literacy present in the Science Club Prof. Dr. Cristovam W. P. Diniz. The study data were collected from an activity developed among students aged between 9 and 12 years old, from public municipal and state schools and who are part of this project in the non-formal learning space located at the Federal University of Pará in Castanhal. From this, we tried to identify the indicators of scientific literacy present in an investigative teaching sequence called The problem of the submarine. Thus, it was observed that the moment of approximation with reality is shown as the stimulator of scientific literacy when students wrote and / or drew leaving their own information about the activity and how it was related to daily life and with that they could understand the phenomenon and bring it into your experience.
